Eligibility Conditions

GENERAL ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS

(i) ACADEMIC

(a) For B.E. Courses

The admission to the First Semester B.E. Courses will be open to a candidate, who

(i) has qualified in the AIEEE-2011, conducted by the C.B.S.E., for admission to these courses. (See Note 1 below)

(ii) has passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination with at least 60% marks in aggregate (55% marks in case of S.C./S.T./Physically Challenged), conducted by a recognized Board/University/Council in March/April 2011 and not earlier than March/April 2009. (See Note 2 & 3 below)

(b) For B. Arch. Course

The admission to the First Semester B. Arch. Course will be open to a candidate, who

(i) has qualified in the All India Engineering/Pharmacy/Architecture Entrance Examination (AIEEE-2011), with Architecture Aptitude test conducted by the CBSE (See Note 1 below).

(ii) has passed an examination at the end of the new 10+2 scheme of Senior School Certificate Examination or equivalent with Mathematics and English as subjects of examinations at the 10+2 level (not earlier than March/April-2009) with minimum 50% marks in aggregate; (See Note 2 & 3 below)

OR

has passed 3 year diploma in Architecture (10+3) (not earlier than April-2009) recognized by the Central/State Governments provided the candidate passed the Diploma examination with 50% marks in aggregate (See Note 2 & 3 below)).

NOTE :
1. A candidate must secure a minimum of 15 percent marks in the All India Engineering/Pharmacy/Architecture Entrance Examination (AIEEE 2011) to qualify for admission. However, candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/Tribes and Physically Challenged categories shall be eligible if they secure a minimum of 10 percent marks in AIEEE 2011.

2. A candidate, who gets a compartment in the 10+2/Diploma in architecture examination held in March/April, 2011 will not be eligible for admission even if he/she clears the same (by appearing in the supplementary examination) before the counseling dates.

3. Aggregate marks percentage in 10+2 or equivalent examination shall be worked out as suggested by the certificate awarding Board/University/Council. If the Board/University/Council awards letter grades without providing the equivalent percentage of marks on the grade sheet, the candidate, should obtain a certificate from the respective Board/University/Council specifying equivalent percentage conversion formula, and submit the same at the time of counseling. In the absence of such a certificate, the decision of the JAC regarding his/her eligibility shall be final.

OTHER CONDITIONS

For admission to the B.E./B. Arch. courses, each candidate must

(a) bear a good moral character and should not have been debarred from any institution/university,

(b) be an Indian National (except for those seats which are open to Foreign Nationals/PIO/NRI),

(c) satisfy the prescribed medical standards of fitness as follows:

(i) Standard of Physique:

A candidate must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely interfere with efficient performance of duties of his/her profession.

(ii) Standard of Visual acuity with or without glasses shall be:

The total amount of myopia including the cylinder shall not exceed � 600 D

The total amount of hypermetropia including the cylinders shall not exceed + 600 D.

Candidates desirous of seeking admission in UIET, SSGPURC and UICET (formerly known as DCET) against Foreign Nationals/PIO/NRI seats for B.E. courses, who are present in India, will compete amongst themselves for the seats reserved for them by appearing in the AIEEE-2011. Those living abroad will be required to produce the test score of Scholastic Aptitude Test II (SAT-II) with permissible combination of subjects, conducted by the Educational Testing Service, Princeton, U.S.A. (In case one of the subjects is Mathematics, it would be Mathematics IIC). Foreign Nationals/PIO/NRI shall have to comply with the requirements of Govt. of India, if any, as well as those of Panjab University, Chandigarh as prescribed by them from time to time.

Inter-se Merit for Admission

The inter-se merit of the candidates for admission will be determined on the basis of rank obtained in AIEEE-2011 only, except in the Sports Category (14) and the categories of codes 15 to 33 given in Annexure I
