You have to apply for hostels as soon as possible.
Boys will get Shivalik Hostel and Girls will get Vindhya hostel
In Shivalik there are single rooms but very less rooms have net connectivity
And abt Vindhya 1st year girls will get triple rooms there
Net connectivity is also an issue dere

ReplyDeleteand abt WIFI Its said that campus is covered with wifi connectivity. And u dont need anything like internet cards or any other special requirements...
U dont need laptop that much....
and it depends on you how much you use the internet...
oh ok..since i am a foreign national..goin in for BE i guess i wld b given a room in kalpana chawala hostel? it would really b appreciated if u cld give me d details ov d rooms n d bathrooms der n also d connectivity...is kalpana chawala hostel only for nri n foreign nationals??thnk u!!

but u can use net in common room if u cant get it in ur room
And abt gals ya there are less gals in PEC
and its not true that everyone speaks in PUNJABI in PEC. WE use all the languages here
and bt net u will get unlimited usage. ya social sites are banned here. But Dont worry there are ways to open them(as u can see i m using this blogger hehe).
and abt PEC hostel and PG

U can use ur own Internet connection like connectivity card but u cant have a broadband connection in the hostel...

cz nri students wer found 2 b weak...in kc dell b abt 7-8 nri 1st yearuites n d rest will b other nris n 2nd yearites....n in vindya..dell b d rest of d 1st yearistes includin d nris, d 3rd n d 4th yearites...thts wat dt guy said...bt dey didnt seem totally certain.
nw commin to kc d hostel is supposed 2 b d new one...bt its d one thts in a worse condition...d bathrooms rnt really very clean n dey have indian style toilets...d room is shared by 2...n ders no balcony... d food is supposed to b ok...
nt dey dont serve ne non veg...also dis hostel is d small one..n it has dis marriage hall thing next to it..soo it can gt 2 b a problm if ders a weddin...nw goin 2 vindhya der r more no of rooms...ull find more localites der..spclly d3rd n 4th yearites...n bahrooms r a whole lot cleaner...like der is a roms of abt 10 toilets n 10 showers..d rooms here have 2 b shard by 3...bt d good thing is tht evry rooms gt a balcony..soo u can dhup seko in d chilly winter...der is a dhobi who takes some no of clothes each month which done free of cost...clothes moe thn tht no have 2 b paid some money 4...u gotta gt a cooler..a room tht i saw had 1 cooler 4 evry gal..n u gotta pay 1500 extra charge 2 use d cooler..bt thts 4 d entire year..like d inital months u need a cooler...evry room has hard green iron beds soo u need a kinda thick mattress..n dey give u 3 tables n chairs..n u have 3 cupboards 2 put ur stuff...wile in kc oll dese things r 2 in no...ders no raggin acc 2 d students bt acc 2 teachers der is mild raggin...bt my cuz bro in pu feels tht it shouldnt go more thn a intro...( if it does hes gonnna sort dem out!! :P)
umm d campus is HUGE!(i went 4 soo many geris in d afternoon!! :P) n evrything frm d directors house to guest house to d market ( thts got a juice shop, hairdresser, normal food, pb national bank wid atm n sb bank, o stationery n raphic shop n dispensory) d ppl seeem very frndly..i dont expect ne problm in frndship n ol..d builings do look a bit old..btthts okay..coudnt c d classroomsfrm inside..bt a frnd of myn did point out at a pink building n tht was d elct depatment...oll d campus is spread..it like a min walk 2 d hostel which is with ind main campus..sec 11 market( a really kewl geri spot n a youngetrs fav hangout) is a 5 min walk too..goin straight ahead ders pu n c 15 market...soo overall it was a really good college..m plannin join vindhya...
ps if ur a fashion freak id lotsa clothes n shoes..plz choose ur fav ones( its gonna b really hard! :( ) cz d cupboad isnt v big!!! hope oll dis helps... only thing tht may b a prolm wld b trvelin out of campus a tution...bt u can find autos..tho nt many ov dem...n also u can gt outta d hosel at 6am ( if ur plannin to o 2 ur nanis place n have quick bath!)n u have 2 coe bak by 8.30 bt 9.30 is dlast limit..dunno wat tht guy exactly meant by tht! :P

U will get single rooms dere with some double ones..
dere are two blocks A and B dere..
U can use a room cooler dere with a charge of rs 300 pm and dere is a TT haal and Snooker room dere for sports lovers..
dere is a common room with carrom dere with TV and an Internet router(Used mostly by Downloaders)...
Toilets and Baathrooms are cleaned everyday
the only prob dere is abt water drainage in some of bathrooms...
Shiwalik MEss is really gud as compared to other hostel mess...
and one thing to know abt the block names are changed Previously B is now A and Previously B is now A block
