PE,NSS or NCC

All Students will have to opt One of PE,NSS or NCC on registration.

Students Who Have opt for NSS or NCC need not go to PE classes

Humanities

All Non-circuit branch Students will have to opt for one of the four Humanities courses on the day of Orientation. These are
  1. Public Administartion
  2. Women in Third World development
  3. Sociology
  4. Microeconomics

Laptops

College Will Provide Laptops At Cheaper rates but Students will get their Booked laptops nearly after 1-2 months. Also laptops are made compulsory in brochure but It is not compulsory Actually.
Also it is not required 2 buy laptop from college.

Admissions

GENERAL INFORMATION ON ADMISSION TO THE BACHELOR OF ENGINEERING PROGRAMMES

The total academic structure of the institute has been updated to bring it in line with the best practices world-wide. The curricula design for the new batch contains many features which attempt to inculcate the practical and design aspects of engineering. The candidate may visit the website www.pec.ac.in of the college, to know more about the college.

Note : The admission process for the various BE courses at PEC University of Technology will start in the month of June immediately after the declaration of AIEEE – 2011 result. The admissions will be based on the merit of AIEEE – 2011 but the candidates desirous of taking admission in PEC will have to register separately on the website chdenggadmissions.nic.in. This website will become active in the first week of June, 2011 for online registration. Starting from the session 2011-12, seat allotments will be done through an online process of counseling consisting of three rounds. After this, there will be one last (fourth) round of physical counseling in the month of August, 2011. The complete details of seats availability, reservation criteria and the counseling procedure will be available on the institute website : pec.ac.in as well as on chdenggadmissions.nic.in in the first week of June, 2011. For details of the admission process last year and the cut-offs in various branches, the prospective candidates may follow the links given below.
The BE admissions to PEC are conducted jointly with five other technical institutes of the region by a Joint Admission Committee (JAC) notified by the Chandigarh Administration. The participating institutes under JAC – 2011 are:

  • PEC University of Technology (formerly Punjab Engineering College), Chandigarh.
  • University Institute of Engineering & Technology, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
  • University Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
  • Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology, Chandigarh.
  • Swami Sarvanand Giri Panjab University Regional Centre, Hoshiarpur.
  • Chandigarh College of Architecture, Chandigarh.

Eligibility Criteria

The admission to the B.E. Courses are made on the basis of merit of AIEEE conducted by the C.B.S.E every year. The student must fulfill the following conditions for taking admission to B.E. Courses

  • has qualified in the AIEEE, conducted by the C.B.S.E.
  • has passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination with at least 60% marks in aggregate (55% marks in case of S.C./S.T./Physically Challenged), conducted by a recognized Board/University/Council
  • Candidate must secure 15% marks in AIEEE to qualify for admission and 10 % for S.C./S.T./P.H.

Only those candidates shall be considered who have obtained gradation certificates from the Sports Department of Chandigarh Administration before the last date of submission of application form. New/modified gradation certificates issued after the last date of submission of application form will not be entertained.
